The ship is a huge gunmetal gray cylinder with a textured exterior. By the second book at least, it's more about that stuff and then occasional missions into the huge, cool, scary ship. The amount of story and introspection and long segments talking about the political etc beliefs of the crew, their views on sexuality and other things really overtake the overall story. The books, taken as a whole (I've read the first 2 of them at least a few times, first one a bunch) and got so disappointed in what gets revealed, which is frustratingly little. ![]() I really enjoyed elements of the book but I weirdly hope that Denis Villeneuve takes a ton of liberties. ![]() ![]() ![]() Voucher holders disproportionately end up in this area despite rampant unemployment, drugs, crime, and abandoned housing. Rosen spent more than a year living in Park Heights, sitting on front stoops, getting to know families, accompanying them on housing searches, speaking to landlords, and learning about the neighborhood’s history. While vouchers are a powerful tool with great promise, she demonstrates how the housing policy can replicate the very inequalities it has the power to solve. Eva Rosen tells stories about the daily lives of homeowners, voucher holders, renters who receive no housing assistance, and the landlords who provide housing. The Voucher Promise examines the Housing Choice Voucher Program, colloquially known as “Section 8,” and how it shapes the lives of families living in a Baltimore neighborhood called Park Heights. Vouchers are meant to provide the poor with increased choice in the private rental marketplace, enabling access to safe neighborhoods with good schools and higher-paying jobs. ![]() Housing vouchers are a cornerstone of US federal housing policy, offering aid to more than two million households. ![]() ![]() ![]() Our expert authors combine facts, analysis, perspective, new ideas, and enthusiasm to make interesting and challenging topics highly readable. ![]() These pocket-sized books are the perfect way to get ahead in a new subject quickly. Juliette’s journal was interesting, but we’ve read some of it before, and most (if not all) of it features in the fourth novel in the series. Many Danes watching the mounting tensions in Bahrain over the couple of months will be unaware of the country’s long-standing connection to Denmark due to the work of an archaeologist named Peter Vilhelm Glob. The word ‘bahrain’ means ‘two seas’ in Arabic, making the island country of Bahrain the ‘kingdom of the two seas’ – a description that could equally be applied to Denmark.
